Fort Lauderdale, Fla. — Retailer City Furniture has partnered with several of its suppliers to help Camillus House, which provides shelter and other services to the homeless.
City delivered 68 dressers and 65 nightstands and lamps for the organization's new single-room occupancy facility, the Brownsville Christian Housing Center. Standard Furniture, Palliser Furniture, Stylecraft Lamps and Vintage Veranda Elite Lamps helped fill the request.
Earlier, City Furniture donated other furniture for a Camillus House shelter, The Carrie Meek Residences at Saint Mathias House. Dixie Bedding, a City supplier, donated 74 new mattresses and box springs to go with City's donated bed frames.
In addition to receiving subsidized housing, residents benefit from a range of services in a safe and supportive environment. City has been a longtime supporter, and has made a commitment to participate in the Camillus House Neighbors 4 Neighbors program through 2006.
