Nominations sought for new Rising Star awards

High Point — The home furnishings industry is invited to nominate bright up-and-comers under the age of 40 for the first Rising Star awards, which will be presented at the January 2006 at Showtime fabric market here.
An industrywide cocktail party at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, at the String & Splinter Club in Market Square here, sponsored by the International Textile Market Assn. and Furniture/Today, was to outline the awards and the nomination procedures.
There will be three categories of Rising Star awards — upholstery merchandising, retail merchandising and fabric design. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges.
