White Plains, N.Y. — Linda Harlow has been named to the new post of vice president of merchandising at rug resource Trans-Ocean.
President Charles Peck said she will spearhead Trans-Ocean's product development and sourcing efforts, and will continue to be based in San Francisco.
A 30-year merchandising veteran, Harlow most recently was managing director of hand-made rugs at Oriental Weavers-Sphinx, launching the company's entry into that category. Before that, she was rug buyer at Macy's West.
At Oriental Weavers-Sphinx, Bill Belardi continues to manage the Sphinx hand-made rug products, and the company's design staff has taken a more active role in development of those products, said Mike Riley, executive vice president of Sphinx.
