Rising Stars get send-off

High Point — A big crowd turned out at an industrywide cocktail party at Showtime here to kick off nominations for the first Rising Star awards, which will be presented at next January's Showtime.

The awards will honor talented people 40 years old and under involved in upholstery merchandising, retail merchandising or fabric design. The awards — and the party — are sponsored by the International Textile Market Assn. and Furniture/Today.
