Dinaire expects new owners

Buffalo, N.Y. — Casual dining producer Dinaire is expected to be acquired by an as-yet-unnamed Canadian group, and its 110,000-square-foot facility here sold.
President David Dunn said the new owners will be announced when the deal is completed.
"Our personal deadline is to have it done by the end of March," he said, adding it could be before then, as negotiations with the prospective purchaser continue.
Dinaire moved manufacturing to leased facilities in Mississauga, Ontario, early last summer, maintaining its office in Buffalo. The Canadian factory is now fully operational and will remain so under the new owners, Dunn said, consolidating the business in Mississauga.
He and two partners acquired Dinaire six years ago. The sale will allow them to focus on other business interests.
Dinaire, founded in 1946, makes solid-wood oak, maple and birch dining furniture.
"Currently, 100% of our customers are in the United States," Dunn said. "Moving the plant means it will be a good opportunity for the new owners to begin servicing the Canadian market."
