WMC details hotel rates for first market
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 25, 2005
LAS VEGAS -- The World Market Center has announced discounted hotel rates ranging from $52 to $169 a night for exhibitors and attendees at the first Las Vegas Market here, July 25-29.
Show officials are encouraging marketgoiers to book their hotel rooms early in order to ensure the best availability.
The World Market Center has partnered with travel service ITS to negotiate custom room blocks and rates for the period July 22 to July 31. The rates will not fluctuate throughout the week, nor is there a minimum stay at any of the properties. Attendees will not be charged at the time of the booking — it’s a “pay as you stay” policy, which means guests will pay upon check-in.
“Las Vegas is home to the finest properties in the world, and we are fortunate to be able to offer such a wide variety of hotels which we believe will enhance our attendees overall Market experience,” said Briana Mackey, the WMC’s director of market operations. “From budget accommodations and non-gaming hotels to the most luxurious suites in the world, we have designed a hotel roster to ensure we have something that will suit every budget and satisfy even the most discriminating tastes.” The first group of Las Vegas Market hotel partners includes:Sahara Hotel – $52Flamingo Las Vegas – $75Bally’s Las Vegas – $85Golden Nugget – $99Paris Las Vegas – $105Westin – $109Courtyard By Marriott – $124Residence Inn, Hughes Center –- $124Residence Inn, LVCC – $ 129Marriott Suites – $139Bellagio Hotel – $169 The Courtyard by Marriott, the Marriott Suites and the two Residence Inns are non-gaming hotels.Several more hotels are scheduled to be added soon, also offering discounted rates. These hotels will include Caesars Palace, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand and Wynn Las Vegas, a much-anticipated property set to open on the Las Vegas Strip this spring. “We selected these properties because they have incredible on-site amenities such as world class restaurants, convenient business centers, luxurious pools and spas and free parking,” said Mackey. Up to five rooms can be booked through the real-time reservations system online at www.lasvegasmarket.com. ITS will also work closely to customize larger blocks of rooms for exhibitors and buyer groups who have broader needs. These Hotel Block Request Forms can be found on the Web site. When visiting the Las Vegas Market website, buyers will also find an on-line planning tool, Virtual Veg@s, which allows attendees 24-hour access to customize their Market experience. Buyers can use Virtual Veg@s in order to book or change their hotel room; develop a list of exhibitors they want to see including showroom or booth location; preview and select seminars and networking events they will attend at market; manage market appointments with exhibitors; build a personal agenda, then store, print or download to a PDA; and select attractions in Las Vegas to enhance the overall market experience. On the Web site, attendees can also download a site map of host hotels to view locations of each property relative to World Market Center. To register for the market, call (866) 229-3574 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.
