Superstyle opens factory for stationary leather line
Michael J. Knell -- Furniture Today, January 23, 2005
Woodbridge, Ontario — Stationary upholstery resource Superstyle Furniture has opened a 35,000-square-foot factory here dedicated to stationary leather upholstery in the better and best price points, which it unveiled at the Toronto winter market Jan. 15–18.
The company already offers imported leather upholstery at entry-level prices.
"The strategy is to offer a complete assortment of upholstery, including leather, to our existing retail partners," said Laine Reynolds, vice president of sales for Superstyle and its sister company, Trend-Line.
The new leather upholstery is in contemporary, traditional and transitional styles, he said. The initial offering encompasses seven suites and six chairs, all using no-sag construction with Ultracel brand foam and covered in five grades of Italian leather in a variety of colors. Suggested retails for a three-seat sofa start at C$1,599.
"Our goal is to satisfy our existing customers' needs for quality leather product that can be tag ordered" and delivered quickly, he said. "It also will allow our retail partners new cross-merchandising opportunities with our fabric line."
Product ordered at the Toronto market should be delivered in late February.
"This initiative is designed to enhance our successful, two-year-old imported leather program ... which also is being expanded," Reynolds said.
The import line includes nine suites and a chair, in web construction with two-pound foam. Suggested retails for a three-seat sofa start at C$1,199. Superstyle warehouses the product in Toronto.
