John Thomas offers online service center
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 23, 2005
High Point — John Thomas Furniture, a division of Whitewood Inds. that supplies dining and kitchen furniture, has introduced a Web-based Online Service Center to better support its dealers.
The center currently has three segments: order placement, information on existing orders, and a segment for creating ads. The service is in the dealers' section of the John Thomas Web site, www.johnthomasfurniture.com.
The "Place An Order" and "Existing Orders" sections enable customers to go online to place, check, add to or view orders and product availability. Dealers also can choose when their order will ship, see how much their order total is, and get order acknowledgments via fax within 48 hours.
The "Create-An-Ad" section lets dealers view a template-based ad and choose from an assortment of headers and product. Then they submit their logo and pertinent store information, and receive a customized ad on a CD within five days.
"We introduced this through a hands-on demonstration at the (October) market," said Carla Mata-Sprinkles, Whitewood's vice president of marketing. "The Online Service Center was an immediate hit."
Whitewood plans continually to update and add features.
