Warm social scenes in the cold of Toronto

Toronto — Buyers and exhibitors took time out to renew old acquaintances during the market here at several social events, including the Market Kickoff party and at a reception honouring the winners of this year's Canadian Home Furnishings Awards.

Some 200 people attended the kickoff event, which was sponsored by Furniture/Today and Cantrex Group.

Honoured at this year's CHFA gala was Guy Laflamme, chairman of South Shore Inds., who was presented with the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award. About 350 people from all segments of the furniture industry attended the event.
