D.C.-area seminar to offer retail ideas
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 23, 2005
High Point — A slew of home-oriented television programs and publications seems to have American consumers more interested than ever in furniture, but are retailers benefiting?
To help the home furnishings industry make the connection with the consumer, the new Retail Ideas and Services division of Furniture/Today parent Reed Business Information is planning its first seminar March 20 in the Washington area.
Loreen Epp, who will spearhead the division as director of retail services, said the event will help home furnishings retailers strengthen their market position in today's challenging business environment.
"We're still finalizing the program, but it will include solid educational ideas about financial issues related to profitability. We will send attendees home with their heads overflowing with new ideas and easy-to-use tools," Epp said.
"We'll talk about the importance of credible retail branding and how best to build it, how to understand profitability, understanding the consumer, and how small retailers can differentiate themselves."
For information about the Washington event — as well as in-store events, advertising ideas, newsletters and custom publishing, consumer trend information and Web services the new division will offer — contact Epp at (336) 605-1025 or loreenepp@hotmail.com.
