American Home Furnishings Alliance awards six scholarships
Program supported by golf tournament taking place June 4

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The American Home Furnishings Alliance's Suppliers Division has awarded $2,000 scholarships to six students who are children of AHFA member company employees.Recipients are Bradley A. Setzer, son of Charlean Setzer, who is employed by Hickory Springs Mfg.; Tameria Y. Horton, daughter of Nicole Horton, an employee of The Bradburn Co.; Caiela L. Payne, daughter of Tammy Shackleford, an employee of England Inc.; Emily L. Kenworthy, daughter of Abby Moose, an employee of Precedent Furniture; Aaron L. Stamey, son of Wendy Arroyo, an employee of Broyhill Furniture; and Stevie R. Turner, son of Traci Turner, an employee of England Inc.
The Supplier Division Scholarship Program, in its eighth year, is open to all AHFA member companies. The one-year scholarships are based on financial need and merit of the student.
Students age 21 or younger who are enrolled in or planning to enroll in a college or university, junior or community college or vocational or technical school are eligible to apply if they have a parent who works for an AHFA member company.
The program is supported by an annual golf tournament. This year's tournament will take place this Thursday, June 4, at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. Some 72 golfers have signed up to participate and others are welcome. Contact AHFA CEO Andy Counts at acounts@ahfa.us for information.
Applications for 2010 scholarships will be available later this year on the AHFA Web site at www.ahfa.us. The deadline for applications will be Jan. 31.
