Fairmont Designs taps Fonville as VP of merchandising
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, January 23, 2005
Buena Park, Calif. — Manufacturer Fairmont Designs has hired industry veteran Ken Fonville as vice president of merchandising.
The hiring came two weeks after Fonville resigned from Keller Mfg. as that company announced plans to sell off its furniture business.
Fonville was president of Pennsylvania House from 1996 to 2002. In 2003, he and Keith Williams joined struggling Keller to help transition the case goods supplier from a domestic producer to an importer.
Fairmont Designs President Brian Edwards said Fonville's job is essentially a new position, overseeing merchandising of a line that includes bedroom, dining room, occasional and upholstered furniture.
Fonville is the second executive to join the company this month. David Gerda was hired as the West Coast vice president of sales. Last July, Barry Prochaska joined the company as East Coast vice president of sales.
