AWFS Vegas show sets space record

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 13, 2005

The Assn. of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers said its July trade show in Las Vegas already has set a record for exhibitor space sold and is expected to grow further.

The AWFS Vegas show, set for July 27–30 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, had sold about 370,050 square feet of space by the end of December, topping the previous record of 365,960 square feet in 2001. The July show will overlap the first Las Vegas home furnishings market at the new World Market Center, set for July 25–29.

"At the rate we're going, we fully expect to sell out both halls at the Convention Center, representing a total of 430,000 square feet net," said Angelo Gangone, director of the AWFS show.

He said anyone considering exhibiting should contact the AWFS soon. The show will feature a mix of new and returning exhibitors, with the roster to date including 135 new companies, or about 21% of the total.
