By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 20, 2005
Lexington, N.C. — Scott Bishop has joined full-line manufacturer and importer Lexington Home Brands in the new post of vice president of sales for the western United States.
The move is part an effort to focus national sales efforts by putting senior managers in charge of regions.
Bishop joins two other vice presidents of sales, Doug Hartzog for the South and Scott Sullins for the North.
Most recently, Bishop was a sales representative for Broyhill in Virginia and North Carolina. His 15 years of experience also includes work with Atlanta-based retailer Havertys, Lane and Drexel Heritage.
"Scott's combination of skills, expertise and furniture experience will enhance Lexington's ability to continue to grow our business," said David Banister, senior vice president of sales.
Banister said veteran vice presidents of sales will help each sales region operate according to customer needs in particular areas.
"We're putting in management that really has authority to make decisions," he said. "The quality of people we're putting out there have earned the right to have some authority within their responsibilities.
