Park Place moves up in S.C. business ranking

Greenville, S.C. — Park Place Corp., a manufacturer of bedding and upholstery based here, has been ranked No. 84 on the 2004 South Carolina Top 100, a listing of the state's largest privately owned companies.
Park Place moved up from No. 93 on the previous year's list. The ranking, compiled by accounting firm Grant Thornton in association with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, is based on net revenues in the most recent fiscal year. No figures were given. Park Place was in the less than $50 million category.
Park Place President and CEO Jimmy Orders said, "2003 was an excellent year for us, as indicated by our upward movement in these rankings. As the Park Place value story is discovered by more and more people, our business continues to grow and prosper."
The company, founded in 1931 as Orders Mattress Co., continues under third-generation leadership.
