Broyhill opens 4 Showplaces

Lenoir, N.C. — Broyhill Furniture Showplaces have opened in four stores. The galleries, in California, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Tennessee, are all in the 10,000- to 11,000-square-foot range.

Classic Home Furnishings has a Broyhill gallery in its new store in Modesto, Calif. Owner Fran Ney has been in the furniture business for over 20 years, starting with her parents and later operating two stores in Sonora, Calif. Those stores were sold and operations moved to Modesto as Classic Home Furnishings. Daughter Wendy Ney is vice president of operations.

Manufacturer's Surplus Outlet in Fairfield, N.J., has completed renovations to its 34,000-square-foot store, including installation of a Broyhill gallery. MSO, founded by Jim DeLisa, has been in business for 30 years, and this year plans to open an MSO Kids store.

Lastick's Furniture in Pottstown, Pa., remodeled its store a year ago and installed a 7,500-square-foot Broyhill gallery. Sales were so good the store decided to upgrade to a Showplace gallery, said Jerry Lastick. The family-owned and operated business started in 1973, with Lastick and Marsha Lastick Petnick now running day-to-day operations.

Fowler's Furniture in Maryville, Tenn., has expanded its Broyhill offerings with the installation of a Showplace. Fowler's has three stores in Knoxville-East Tennessee. Don Fowler, owner and operator, has been in furniture for over 40 years, and has been recognized by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Assn. for his efforts on behalf of children. Charles Bailey is the Maryville store manager.
