C. Leonard Erickson, retired Fancher owner

Jamestown, N.Y. — Retired furniture manufacturing owner and executive C. Leonard Erickson has died. He was 93.
Erickson began his career at the former Maddox Table and Desk Co. in New York. In 1939, he went to work for Fancher Furniture Co., where he started as a time study engineer and concluded his career as president and owner of the company. He also operated Fancher subsidiaries Sterlingworth Furniture, GMK-Fancher Clock Co. and Fancher Chair Co.
He retired in 2000 and his son, L. Bruce Erickson, took over as president.
The elder Erickson was a board member and officer of the former National Assn. of Furniture Manufacturers.
In addition to his son Bruce, he is survived by son Brian F. Erickson, an independent manufacturer's representative and a past president of American Furniture Manufacturers Assn.; and daughter Martha Erickson Israel.
