Robb & Stucky, Miskelly open big, bold stores in key markets
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, February 27, 2005
Retailers Robb & Stucky, based in Fort Myers, Fla., and Miskelly Furniture in Jackson, Miss., opened sparkling new stores last week.
Robb & Stucky christened its largest showroom — 120,000 square feet — and its first mall location in a former Lord & Taylor department store in Tampa, Fla. Features include elaborate showcase rooms at mall entrances and a salute to New York Design on the upper level.
The Miskelly brothers unveiled a renovated and expanded store in Jackson, with a Connie Post Cos. design that takes the company "Beyond Furniture" (which is part of the retailer's new logo). Fun, destination-oriented features include an antique reproduction carousel, an old-time general store, a sports memorabilia area and a basketball court.
For more on both stores, see next week's Furniture/Today.
