Methodology for the product source list
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 6, 2005
High Point — Furniture/Today's exclusive report, Latin American Sources, identifies some of the major North American importers bringing in product from Latin America. The list is not comprehensive. It is meant to serve as a resource to readers in helping identify key Latin American importers.
To qualify for the listing, companies must import finished goods from Latin America and have a U.S. marketing arm. In addition, imported goods from Latin America must represent either 10% of total product or equal $5 million or more in wholesale shipments. Companies that produce domestically do not qualify.
All shipment information is for calendar year 2004 and was either provided by the company and/or approved by the company.
Furniture/Today compiled this report by surveying the importers themselves. Information was gathered, compiled and analyzed by Associate Editor Tom Russell and Senior Research Specialist Dana French, with assistance from Database Coordinator, Cynthia Myers.
