Our 9000 foot furniture store has five salespeople on 6% commission working on an \"up\" system, and a manager who is hourly as well as 3% who also sells. Lately, we have been discussing exactly what constitutes an \"up.\" We have never before questioned the matter, but lately it has become an issue. I deem anyone coming in to look for merchandise, whether serious or not, that we carry is an up. Another is suggesting that anyone besides the UPS man, including those coming in about a previous sale they purchased from another salesperson or asking directions is an \"up.\" What do you think?

Most furniture reps are absolutely worthless. They are lazy and have little interest in the consumer. God forbid they might have to go to a retail customers home and explain why their quality is so poor. All they want is a fat commision . Getting rid of all of them would be just fine with me.
