High Point — Industry veteran Kathy Parks has joined the International Home Furnishings Representatives Assn. as executive director.
She has been active in the industry for 15 years, including eight years as director of international services for the International Home Furnishings Center. She also has managed the Paul Robinson showroom and worked as a sales rep for Lane, Hickory Chair and Drexel Heritage.
"I am excited to have the opportunity to promote IHFRA's goals and services to our representatives and the home furnishings industry," Parks said. "I especially look forward to advancing our professional training, such as our CHR program."
To introduce Parks, IHFRA will host an open house during the April market, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, in the IHFRA office in the IHFC's Main wing, space M001 on the lower level.
Parks takes over many duties previously handled by Linda Ledet, who is no longer IHFRA director of operations but remains executive director of the Florida chapter.
IHFRA has 26 chapters and more than 1,500 members.
