Thomasville opens two
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 13, 2005
Thomasville, N.C. — Thomasville has opened two stores in California and New Jersey.
In Fairfield, Calif., a fourth California store has been opened by the McKeon family, joining their Bakersfield, Santa Clarita and Roseville. Joseph W. McKeon is managing the 8,000-square-foot Fairfield store.
The store is on Gateway Boulevard in the Gateway Courtyard Center. It is along Interstate 80 between Roseville and San Francisco, and the owners hope to attract customers from those areas.
Thomasville said the store will fill a void in the market left by former Thomasville dealer Brueners Furniture, which stopped carrying the line and later went out of business.
In Hanover, N.J., Thomasville has added a fifth New Jersey store, joining Thomasville of Eatontown, Paramus, Princeton and Woodbridge. All the stores in the state are owned and operated by the Massood family, who also own three stores in Virginia.
The Hanover store is on Route 10 West adjacent to Babies R Us, and has more than 13,000 square feet of showroom space.
Both stores display every new collection Thomasville offers including Ernest Hemingway, Urban Retreat, Irving Park, King Street and Beekman Place.
Thomasville Furniture is a subsidiary of Furniture Brands International and has more than 150 stores in its growing network.
