ProfitSystems to demo latest retail software
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, March 20, 2005
Colorado Springs, Colo. — Furniture retail software producer ProfitSystems is about to introduce its Version 11.0, the latest generation of ProfitWindows, created using Microsoft's new programming system called VisualStudio.Net.
The company will demonstrate the version at the April market, in the National Home Furnishings Assn.'s Retailer Resource Center, 12th floor, International Home Furnishings Center, Main wing.
ProfitSystems said ProfitWindows 11.0 is the result of an intensive, two-year development project, which included rewriting the user interface and reporting portions of the system.
It said the updated system has three key benefits:
-
Tight, seamless integration with third-party software, which is accomplished simply with Microsoft.Net. An example is with Micro*D's Easy Order Manager. which operates as part of the ProfitWindows Sales Entry and Purchase Order Entry modules. This allows furniture store employees and customers to see a visual verification of special-order items, and to see upholstery fabrics, leathers, colors and wood finishes presented exactly as ordered.
-
A big increase in program productivity. This means that enhancements, desired business features and customizations can be developed at least five times as fast as any other development tool available, the company says. Also, compatibility with future Microsoft products and versions will be available and reliable.
-
The Microsoft VisualStudio.Net development environment also will allow for future Web services to be implemented with ProfitWindows, enabling software clients to have the best of both desktop and Internet worlds.
