Verlo Mattress introduces IntraTouch bedding
By David Perry -- Furniture Today, March 20, 2005
Whitewater, Wis. — Verlo Mattress Factory Stores says it is pushing the envelope in product development with its new IntraTouch Sleep System.
The system, which combines various technologies in the box spring, innerspring and upholstery layers, was the result of more than 18 months of designing and testing by the company, which operates 70 franchised stores in the United States, most of them in the eastern half of the country.
Verlo officials say the system builds on their tradition of offering personalized comfort for their customers.
"This sleep system is specifically designed to provide personalized support necessary for a good night's sleep," said Mike Schweiger, vice president for Verlo. "Equal distribution of body weight throughout the system translates into added support to areas where the body needs it most."
The box spring in the new system is divided into seven zones that provide support to the entire sleep set from head to toe and from side to side. The next component is Verlo's exclusive, proprietary innerspring unit, which is zoned and includes a posturized center, and a head-to-toe alternating coil design. The final element in the new system is a seven-zoned, contoured Talalay latex comfort layer, with provides varying levels of support from the head, shoulders, hips and lower extremities.
Retail prices for a queen-sized sleep set featuring the new system start at $698.
Schweiger said the system was the result of almost two years of work.
"We worked diligently with our suppliers to develop an exclusive, proprietary innerspring and box spring unit," he said.
The system is part of Verlo's Handcrafted and Custom Crafted product lines, which have seen a 20% sales increase since the new system was added.
"The IntraTouch Sleep System extends our offering of personalized comfort," said Kristine Pearse, retail merchandising assistant.
"By utilizing the entire sleep set, we can offer one cohesive system that provides support while sleeping on an individual basis."
