Bowles Mattress names Armstrong to sales post
David Perry -- Furniture Today, March 27, 2005
Jeffersonville, Ind. — Bowles Mattress Co. has named 20-year furniture industry veteran Scott Armstrong vice president of sales and marketing, a new post for the company.
Armstrong will oversee sales, advertising and marketing for the company, which recently became a licensee for Lady Americana.
He previously held similar positions at Pennsylvania House and earlier at Keller Furniture.
"We are extremely pleased to have someone with Scott's experience joining our company," said William Bowles, president. "We believe adding this new position will result in generating tremendous benefits for our mattress retailers."
He said Armstrong will spearhead the effort to promote the company's new Lady Americana mattress line.
Bowles Mattress Co. was founded by George and Opal Bowles, William Bowles' parents, in 1975. Armstrong has begun planning promotional events to mark the company's 30th anniversary this year.
The company said it sells about 60,000 pieces of bedding a year to furniture stores in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois and West Virginia.
Lady Americana Associates, based in Oklahoma City, is a group of 10 North American mattress manufacturers who collaborate on marketing and product development. It ranks 12th on Furniture/Today's list of the top bedding producers.
