Lexington, Ky. — Tempur-Pedic International has increased its guidance for 2005, anticipating annual sales to be about $880 million. The maker and marketer of visco-elastic mattresses and pillows also expects earnings per share to be about $1.08.
On a pro-forma basis, Tempur-Pedic anticipates EPS of about $1.10.
In late January, the company said it expected annual sales in the range of $830 million to $850 million, with pro-forma EPS of $1 to $1.05.
Tempur-Pedic Chairman and CEO Robert Trussell said, "The strong performance we experienced throughout 2004 has continued into the first quarter of 2005 across our business. Sales are trending ahead of our expectations, led by strong growth in our U.S. retail channel. We are also experiencing continued growth internationally."
