Stanley, AmericasMart back WithIt career event

High Point — Stanley Furniture has signed on as title sponsor of WithIt's upcoming career conference for independent and corporate professionals.
Women in the Home Industries Today is calling the event Learn, Grow, Lead, Encourage: Developing Leaders for 2010.
It will take place May 10–12 at AmericasMart in Atlanta. AmericasMart also is a sponsor.
"We are pleased to sponsor WithIt's national leadership development conference," said Jeff Scheffer, president and CEO of case goods manufacturer Stanley. "In most cases, women are the decision-makers when it comes to buying furniture, and it's important to develop women leaders in our industry.

At AmericasMart, Kathy Bovey, vice president of home accents and furnishings for the showroom building, and a WithIt member, said the company and Virginia Gorday, its senior vice president of operations, "are committed to excellence through leadership development. Brenda Plowman, vice president of U.S. sales for Hamilton & Spill Furniture Group, is the conference chair.
At the event, business experts will conduct sessions on topics including personal leadership development, mentoring and professional networks, and work/life issues.
