Scholarship Awards Breakfast at FIT scheduled for April 12

New York — The Fashion Institute of Technology will hold its ninth annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Tuesday, April 12. Proceeds will benefit the college's Home Products Development program.
The breakfast is set for 7 to 9 a.m. in the Waldorf-Astoria's Grand Ballroom and will honor leaders in the industry as well as raise funds for the program and for student scholarships.
Darlene Daggett, president of U.S. commerce at QVC, will receive the Retailer of the Year Award. Michael Fux, president and CEO of Sleep Innovations, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Lyn Kirby, president and CEO of Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrances, and Joe Laneve, senior vice president and general merchandise manager for home at Bloomingdale's, will receive Industry Leader of the Year awards.
The chair for the breakfast is Dr. Leonard Florence of the Leonard Florence Group. Co-chairs are Carl Goldstein, S. Lichtenberg and Co.; Jeffrey Siegel, Lifetime Hoan Corp.; and Peter G. Scotese, chairman emeritus of FIT's board of trustees.
This year, FIT celebrates its 60th anniversary as a college of art and design, business and technology. The school's Home Products Development program is billed as the only one of its kind in the country.
The cost of the attending the breakfast is $200 per person or $2,000 for a table of 10.
