Thomasville adds 5 dedicated stores

Thomasville, N.C. — Thomasville Furniture Inds. has opened five dedicated stores, in California, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri and Virginia.

In the San Francisco Bay area, a sixth corporately owned northern California store has been launched in San Rafael at 530 Francisco Boulevard West. The 10,000-square-foot unit will carry all of Thomasville's newest collections, and is operated by Terry Schott, vice president for Bay Area stores for Thomasville.

Fayetteville, Ga., is home to the fifth Thomasville store in Georgia, all owned and operated by The Hendricks Furniture Group, a North Carolina-based furniture retailer which owns a total of 13 Thomasville stores in North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The 10,000-square-foot showroom is managed by Rick Lowery.

A dedicated store has opened in Overland Park, Kan., on West 135 Street in the Deer Creek Shopping Center, the second Thomasville store in metro Kansas City. The store is co-owned and operated by Howard Krantz and Stewart Smoler of Allen Furniture, operating in Nebraska since 1925. The two also own a Thomasville store in Omaha, Neb. The 12,000-square-feet Overland Park unit is managed by Terry Stoneking.

Brentwood, Mo., has a new Thomasville store on Brentwood Promenade Court with over 9,000 square feet of showroom space. The unit is owned and operated by Steve Kloss and Dan Kennedy of Kloss Furniture, who also own two other Thomasville stores in Missouri.

The new store in Woodbridge, Va., marks the fourth Thomasville location in northern Virginia, all owned and operated by Michael and Ed Massood, who also own five Thomasville stores in New Jersey. The 10,000-square-foot Woodbridge unit is across from the Potomac Mills Mall.

Thomasville, with over 150 dedicated stores, is a subsidiary of Furniture Brands International, the largest U.S. furniture maker and importer.
