HFIA offers training CD
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 10, 2005
Dallas — Need to know a little more about furniture and related products? Turn to your computer, says the Home Furnishings International Assn., which is offering a 36-part software training program called "Fundamentals of Furniture Product Knowledge."
The program, offered for sale by the HFIA as a member benefit, presents a series of lessons on case goods, upholstered furniture, beds and bedding, fibers and fabric, leather furniture and rugs. Each lesson takes about 20 minutes, and certificates of achievement are awarded for the successful completion of each one.
The software won an award for post-secondary career preparation at a software competition in San Diego. Mark Lacy, senior vice president of program creator LetterPress, said hundreds of stores already use the software and "have found that more product knowledge leads to more sales."
HFIA members may purchase a CD of the program for $263.
For information or to make a purchase, contact the association at (800) 942-4663 or by e-mail at info@hfia.com.
