Zocalo celebrating 10th year in HS space
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, April 10, 2005
High Point — Zocalo, a San Francisco-based importer of bedroom, dining room and occasional furniture, is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the April market here with an expanded showroom at Hamilton Square.
The renovated and redesigned 37,000-square-foot space, which occupies the entire third floor of Hamilton Square, features the Tropical Z Bar, the Café Avignon for lunch, in a French village street scene vignette in the showroom, and luxurious spa bathrooms complete with lavish amenities.
"The idea behind expanding our showroom is to offer buyers a single destination where they can find innovative ideas to bring back to their stores," said President Jeremy Sommer. "Our new showroom is a must-see no matter what type of store a buyer is shopping for."
At market, Zocalo is showing its new teen furniture brand, Z Generation, and a 2,000-square-foot version of its in-store gallery program, Inspired Living. It also is introducing two collections, Provencal and Miramar, both featuring bedroom, dining and occasional pieces.
Provencal offers elegant bowed drawer fronts and intricate hand-carved details designed to recreate the warmth of Provence and the wine regions of the French countryside.
Miramar combines ash solids and veneers with contemporary forms for a sophisticated, cosmopolitan look.
