New Couristan Web site provides pre-shopping tool

Couristan's new Web site is merging its traditional advertising and marketing program with the latest Internet technology.

Targeted to consumers and hospitality market professionals, the site is an interactive pre-shopping tool.

After a consumer chooses several carpet or rug designs, the Web site at www.couristan.com will direct the consumer to a dealer, complete with a map on how to get there. Products are not sold online.

According to Couristan, "Female consumers use the Web as a qualifying tool to gauge a brand's relevance as well as evaluate product."

At the same time, commercial buyers assess suppliers on both analytical and emotional dimensions, the company said.

"Bottom line, the right online brand experience has the ability to make the sale before a prospect ever visits a store or falls in love with the product," the company said.
