Industry's 'Men of Cloth' bare not quite all for charity
Susan M. Andrews -- Furniture Today, April 24, 2005
High Point — On a bracing spring morning last week, 14 of the industry's best sports gathered at the home of Stephen and Kathryn Giles here to pose for the cover of "Men of the Cloth," an upcoming calendar that will be on sale at next October's market to raise funds for child advocacy programs and scholarships.
Members of BasBleu, a women's service organization in Newton, N.C., whose members have connections to the textile industry, conceived the idea. They include Ray McKinnon and Tamara Coley, whose husbands are Bob McKinnon and Lloyd Coley of Land-McKinnon and Key City Furniture, respectively, along with Annarria Moose, Buffy Smith and Laura Treadaway.
Photographers Sally Fanjoy and James Labrenz, owners of Hickory-based Fanjoy Labrenz, donated their time to the project.
Individual "month" pages will be shot this summer and the completed calendar will be for sale for $20 during next market, after a kickoff event.
