Dinec introduces personalized Diva line
Michael J. Knell -- Furniture Today, April 24, 2005
High Point — The contemporary Diva collection, which uses chair, table and storage unit components to create custom furniture configurations for the dining room to the home office and for a variety of rooms, proved a hit for Quebec-based casual dining producer Dinec at the just-concluded market here.
"Created to meet the ever-changing needs of a clientele whose lifestyle is evolving constantly, Diva is a uniquely 'polyvalent' furniture-unit concept with endless possibilities," said President Pat Gervais. "It's an ultra-contemporary minimalist collection inspired by urban life. Consumers define the function, size, finish, material, color and style of their Diva furniture as they see fit."
Designed by Jean Beauregard and Daniel Bissonette, retail price points start at $159 and go up to about $2,000.
Chairs come in three back styles, heights can vary, and they can be upholstered in fabric or leather. Tables are offered in either square or rectangle shapes in seven heights and seven dimensions, and the storage unit can be configured for a buffet, night table, wardrobe or entertainment center.
All pieces are constructed of birch and beech solids and veneers at Dinec's new plant in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. Initial shipments are set for late June or early July, with a special-order lead time of 21 days or less.
Retailers can merchandise Diva using either the existing Dinec Personalization Center or the new Diva merchandising support system.
