High Point — Owners of manufacturers Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth and Directional plan to build a 20,000-square-foot showroom building at Hamilton and Wrenn streets, to open in time for the October market.
Business partners Rod Lambeth and Howard Williams said the companies' new showroom address will be 531 N. Hamilton St.
They now show in Market Square, the former factory of Tomlinson Furniture, one of the forerunners of their companies. The space in the new building will be about the same as the companies' combined space in Market Square.
"I'm delighted that we will have the opportunity to market all of our companies under one roof," said Lambeth, CEO of Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth and Directional.
The building is scheduled for completion by late summer, with the official opening at the October market.
Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth, founded in 1901, and Directional, founded in 1946, make high-end upholstered and occasional furniture. The companies share headquarters in Thomasville, N.C.
