Las Vegas Market lists discount hotel rates
Many have July 1 reservation deadline
Larry Thomas -- Furniture Today, June 19, 2009
LAS VEGAS - Organizers of the Las Vegas Market said they have negotiated discounted hotel rates at more than two dozen properties in an effort to make the September market affordable for attendees.
The new rates - many of which have a July 1 reservation deadline - start at $29, and numerous hotels have rates under $100 per night.
"People are more value conscious, and we're ensuring we provide that experience," said Bob Maricich, president of the World Market Center. "The changing economy has led to many attendees putting a new emphasis on getting more value for their dollar, whether they're spending it on essentials or air travel and hotel packages."
The first September show in the market's history is set for Sept. 14-17.
Maricich said each hotel is served by the market's M-Line shuttles, which stop at host hotels every 15 minutes during peak hours.
There are no minimum-stay requirements for the hotels, although all require one night's deposit.
Reservations may be booked through the market's Web site, www.LasVegasMarket.com
