Global Care Solutions not involved in Stainsafe Canada bankruptcy

Company owns U.S.-based Stainsafe

Michael Knell -- Furniture Today, June 24, 2009

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Global Care Solutions does not own Stainsafe of Canada and isn't involved in its bankruptcy, according to GCS President and CEO Karen Gough.

Gough said that when the new company was formed last August, Stainsafe of Canada wasn't included.

"We didn't buy the assets of Stainsafe of Canada and we didn't assume the business operations of Stainsafe of Canada," she said. "There is no link between Global Care Solutions and Stainsafe of Canada."

GCS was created from the merger of Stainsafe, the U.S. company owned by private equity firm Palm Beach Capital, and Multimasters, a division of Uniters, an Italian manufacturer and distributor. At the time of the merger, Gough was executive vice president of Stainsafe and was promoted into her current position when the deal closed.

The marketing and sales operations of Stainsafe in Canada were contracted to ProShield Canada of Chilliwack, British Columbia in 2005.
