The award honors prominent members of the furniture industry for distinguished service and is presented each year by GNYHFA at a formal dinner and dance. This year's award will be presented Nov. 21 at Terrace on The Park in Flushing Meadow Park, Queens, N.Y.
Liverpool, N.Y.-based Raymour & Flanigan, No. 7 on Furniture/Today's Top 100 ranking, is the largest furniture retailer in the Northeast, with 90 stores, including eight clearance centers, in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
Raymour President and CEO Neil Goldberg said his family is honored to receive this award on behalf of its 4,000 employees.
"Without question, we earned this distinction because of the collective contributions of our valued associates to serve our customer with passion, unwavering focus and professionalism - every day we are committed to enhancing our customers' shopping experience," he said. "Our people truly are our greatest asset."
GNYHFA Executive Director said Barbara Goldstein noted that the Goldbergs "are well known in our industry for their business leadership, integrity, support of the home furnishings industry and philanthropic causes."
Andy Gans, chairman of the dinner dance committee added, "I know my father would be proud to have his name associated with the Goldberg family. These exceptional people really care about the good name of their company and are concerned about the welfare of their suppliers, employees, customers and the environment."
