Moe's moves wholesale division

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 22, 2009

Moe's Home Collection has relocated its wholesale division from Fremont, Calif., to Sumner, Wash., to be closer to its headquarters in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The company produces case goods, upholstery and accessories and also has a retail division with five stores in British Columbia, Washington and California.

Moe's completed the warehouse move earlier this month, according to Sara Samieian, vice president of the wholesale division. The shift was part of a restructuring plan initiated in mid-2008, which also included the relocation of Moe's Manufacturing and Consolidation Center in China from Ningbo to a better quality supplier in Dongguan, Samieian said.

Moe's also says it plans to announce a comprehensive freight cap package at the Las Vegas Market in September.

In addition, it will introduce 150 new SKUs in Vegas as it moves in styling from transitional to more contemporary looks, said Karen Stewart, a product development and design specialist with the company. She added that Moe's also aims to use more sustainable materials.
