Tri-State HFA picks Karel for top honor

Ambler, Pa. — The Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn. has named Larry Karel of Karel Exposition Management its Person of the Year for 2009. Karel will be the guest speaker at the annual awards dinner in November.
Tri-State, made up of retailers, representatives, manufacturers and service suppliers from eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and Delaware, says it presents the award annually to an association member who has exhibited diligence, creativity and outstanding service to the association and the industry as a whole. Karel has had a long relationship with the group and its predecessor, the HFA of Delaware Valley, and has co-sponsored numerous trade shows in the area with and for the current association.
Tri-State will present several other awards at the dinner, including retailer, representative and distributor/importer of the year.
The dinner will take place Tuesday, Nov. 17, at the Holiday Inn-Historic District in Philadelphia. Ballots, invitations and more information will be mailed to TSHFA members in the coming months. Members can also contact Cathy Reed at tshfa_cathy@hotmail.com or (215) 646-5831.
