Diamond heads Tri-State HFA

Plymouth Meeting, Pa. — The Tri-State Home Furnishings Assn. has elected Gary Diamond, owner and CEO of Philadelphia-based retailer Diamond Furniture, as its president.
Tri-State, whose 200-plus members include furniture retailers, suppliers and sales representatives, also bestowed several honors at an awards banquet.
Rosen's Furniture, a two-store retailer based in East Stroudsburg, Pa., was selected as retailer of the year by members of the association. Other member-selected honorees were Jeff Knight, representative of the year; Bill Goode of Bassett Furniture Direct in Delaware, congeniality award; and Scott Cohen of Coaster Co., distributor/importer/manufacturer award.
Committee-selected honors included Senior Service Awards presented to Bill McCloskey, Sol Sauls and Bernard Shikoff for their long service with the association and industry.
Youth recognition awards were presented to Ted Matela of Diamond Furniture and Heidi Sager, a multi-line manufacturers' rep. The presidential award was presented to Doug Murphy of Warren Trucking for his and the company's long support of Tri-State HFA.
