Chantilly, Va. — Contemporary furniture manufacturer BDI has hired Dave Herman as president, a new position for the company.
He reports to Bill Becker, CEO and design director.
Herman is a former CEO and president of Hartmann, a luggage and leather goods company. He also was president of tabletop accessories firm Dansk, president of stores for Lenox, director of stores for Coach, and operating vice president and store manager of Bloomingdale's.
"We were looking for a unique leader who has experience in developing and growing a brand with its retail partners as well as someone with expertise in worldwide distribution," Becker said in a press release. "Additionally, it is imperative that the leader understands specialty retail channels and shares the same core values that have driven BDI forward for 25 years."
