SAN DIEGO -- Stewart M. Bloom, a software, technology and retail veteran, has been named president and CEO of GERS, a provider of enterprise software for the retail industry.
He replaces James Henderson, who had led GERS for six years.
The company said Bloom will focus on increasing GERS' customer value, expanding its footprint, and setting the stage for growth.
Most recently, Bloom was vice president, technology strategy for Capgemini, a consulting company with clients in the consumer product and retail segments. Previously, he was a partner for eBusiness transformation in the management consulting unit of Ernst & Young (acquired by Capgemini), and was senior vice president, strategy consulting for Mainspring, a consulting firm acquired by IBM.
"GERS has an outstanding set of people and capabilities, and a long track record in the industry built on a top quality customer portfolio," said Bloom. "Between retail store, online and catalog channels, our customers are under immense pressure to compete in crowded markets. We are intensely focused on maximizing the shopping experience for their customers while helping to quickly improve business performance on all levels of their business."
Romesh Wadhwani, chairman and CEO of Symphony Technology Group, GERS' parent company, said, "We are extremely excited that a person of Stewart Bloom's stature and experience has joined GERS as CEO."
