Norwalk hears the roar with Patrick sponsorship

Indianapolis — Norwalk Furniture enjoyed a bit of Danica Patrick mania at the recent Indianapolis 500 race, thanks to a sponsorship agreement with her car owner, Rahal Letterman Racing.
Patrick, the 23-year-old rookie who became a media sensation by nearly winning the prestigious race, wore the Norwalk logo on the left sleeve of her driver's uniform.
Norwalk has had a sponsorship agreement with Rahal Letterman since 2002, and was Patrick's first sponsor when she drove in the Formula Atlantic Series, a developmental racing circuit for Indy car drivers.
"(Norwalk owners) Jim and Bill Gerken were the first ones to step up to the plate and believe in me," Patrick said in a statement released by Norwalk. "That's something you never forget."
Patrick wound up fourth in the race and was named rookie of the year. Rahal Letterman driver Vitor Miera — also working under Norwalk sponsorship — finished second.
Rahal Letterman Racing is owned by 1986 Indy 500 winner Bobby Rahal and late-night talk show host David Letterman.
