Las Vegas — The World Market Center has hired three leasing managers and two administrative support members, who will focus on permanent space in the complex's planned second and third buildings and on the temporary venues.
Newly named leasing managers are Vince Shaffer, Martha Denham and Liam Goren. Royce Callowhill and Elaine Wang have joined as leasing administrative assistants.
For the inaugural Las Vegas Market July 25–29, the WMC said it has filled its first permanent showroom building and the adjacent World Pavilions temporary space, and has additional temporary space called World Marketplace at the Las Vegas Convention Center 90% leased. Those venues will encompass nearly 2.5 million square feet.
"We saw a definite need to expand the size of our leasing team to accommodate the demand," said Babs Blair, WMC director of leasing.
Shaffer, who has more than 25 years experience in sales and marketing management, is leasing manager for permanent showrooms with an emphasis on contemporary furniture floors.
Denham, who spent four years at the Dallas Market Center, is leasing manager for permanent showrooms in the planned Buildings B and C.
Goren, who has over five years experience in the trade show industry, most recently as an account executive with ConvExx, is leasing manager of temporary exhibits.
Building A at the WMC will open this July with more than 230 permanent showrooms on 10 floors. WMC organizers said that, including the temporary space, the show will have 1,000 exhibitors, making it the largest-ever debut of a home furnishings market.
