Vegas Sands show will open July 25

Clint Engel -- Furniture Today, June 27, 2005

The Las Vegas Furniture Show, the temporary exhibit in the Sands Exposition Center that runs concurrently with the World Market Center show, has added Monday, July 25 to its summer schedule.

The Sands show now will run July 25–28. Show manager Triad Expositions said it is looking again at taking an additional 189,000-square-feet of space in the Sands on top of its existing 397,000 square feet.

"Our exhibitor base has grown dramatically over the past few months, and we felt it necessary to add the day to ensure buyers will have enough time to visit all furniture market venues in Las Vegas," said Triad President Stephan Phelps.

He continues to be surprised by the amount of space some exhibitors are taking, noting almost one-third of his space is dedicated to five companies. Some 103 exhibitors have signed on to date (see www.lasvegasfurnitureshow.com).

Among the features planned at the Sands are a pavilion coordinated by the California Furniture Manufacturers Assn., and several international pavilions. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes to other market venues.
