Simmons expands Beautyrest offerings

Atlanta — Bedding major Simmons is expanding its flagship Beautyrest line with models featuring new innerspring and visco-elastic foam constructions.
Simmons officials said the new bedding lines are designed to give couples the most restful sleep possible.
All of the new beds are designed to retail at more than $1,000 in queen.
"Beautyrest earned its reputation as the best sleep solution for couples through its use of Simmons Pocketed Coil technology, which prevents an individual's movement from disturbing their partner's rest and creates the ideal balance between support and comfort required by the body during sleep," said Rolf Sannes, Beautyrest brand director.
"In addition," he continued, "the incorporation of memory foam into our line brings a new dimension to the Beautyrest tradition. While the material is vastly different from our traditional coil constructions, the motion separation benefit it provides is worthy of the Beautyrest name."
Two of the beds, the Beautyrest Caresse and the Beautyrest Caresse Ultra, use visco-elastic foam and other high-grade foams to provide firm comfort and support while contouring to the shape of the individual sleeper's body, Simmons said.
The suggested queen retails for those beds are $1,099 and $1,599, respectively.
Simmons Chairman Charlie Eitel referred to those beds in a conference call with analysts last month. He said then that offering the visco products under the Beautyrest brand will give them additional credibility.
The company also is introducing the Beautyrest Exceptionale with alternating Pocketed Cable Coil springs. That model uses the multi-wire Cable Coil springs and Pocketed Coils to provide the body with substantial support and comfort, while isolating the individual from movement on the opposite side of the bed, according to Simmons. That bed has a suggested queen retail of $1,299.
Simmons also is introducing the Beautyrest World Class Exceptionale Coil on Coil model. That bed features a two-layer coil-on-coil construction. It consists of a plush Pocketed Coil layer on top of a layer of firmer Pocketed Coils. The result, according to the company, is "a luxurious sleep experience while maintaining the individual support a body needs." That bed is estimated to retail at $1,599.
The new beds will be available at retail locations nationwide this month, Simmons said.
