Windsor, Conn. — King Koil Northeast, which serves the New England and eastern New York markets, has expanded its management team to position the company for further growth.
Mark Kolovson, president, said the company has added key industry executives as part of its push to continue to grow its business.
Veteran bedding sales and marketing executive David Binke joined the company last year in the newly created position of vice president of sales and marketing. He formerly held a key position at Spring Air Partners.
And the producer recently announced the promotion of Brian Chase, an executive experienced in process engineering and design development, from plant manager to vice president of operations.
"We brought in key people for these positions as part of our plan to secure our growth moving forward," Kolovson said. "We went out and got the best people possible for these jobs."
He said business for King Koil Northeast, a division of Blue Bell Mattress, "has been strong."
Kolovson attributed much of his company's success to strong leadership by King Koil's corporate office.
"Larry McKay and Dave Roberts have been instrumental in re-energizing the King Koil brand by developing a broad assortment of value-driven products with strong feature and benefit stories," Kolovson said.
McKay is president of King Koil. Roberts is executive vice president.
King Koil is one of the fastest-growing bedding companies in the industry. The producer, based in Hinsdale, Ill., recorded a 15% growth rate last year, the best performance by any conventional bedding producer in the ranks of the Top 10. King Koil's shipments last year were $138 million, according to Furniture/Today estimates.
King Koil Northeast operates from a 100,000-square-foot bedding factory here in this suburb of Hartford.
