ADL salutes the Blumkins, FBI's Holliman

New York — A crowd of almost 600 pople turned out to honor the Blumkin family of retailer Nebraska Furniture Mart and Mickey Holliman, CEO of manufacturer Furniture Brands International, at an Anti-Defamation League dinner here earlier this month.
ADL presented the honorees with the 2005 American Heritage Award for the National Home Furnishings Division at a dinner-dance at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. More than $800,000 was raised to support ADL activities.
Louie, Irv and Ron Blumkin accepted the award for the family that operates the Omaha, Neb.-based NFM, now owned by Berkshire Hathaway. There were 34 Blumkin family members at the ADL event.
Norman Waxman of Schnadig was the industry chair for the event, and Neil Goldberg of Raymour & Flanigan, Liverpool, N.Y., was dinner chair.
Fred Berk of Robb & Stucky, Fort Myers, Fla., presented the award to Holliman. Waxman presented the award to the Blumkins.
