Joseph D. Byrnes, veteran sales rep

New York — Joseph D. Byrnes, a longtime legendary sales representative in decorative fabrics, has died. He was 86.
Byrnes retired from Chromatex, which was purchased by Culp. He started his career selling on New York's Canal Street, once the center of the fabric business.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren and a sister.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
